Chilliwack, with a population of 69,217 as of 2006, is located in the heart of the Fraser Valley Regional District. RCMP services are provided by the Upper Fraser Valley Reegional RCMP detachment, whose main detachment office is in Chilliwack. Chilliwack is served by the Chilliwack Fire Department which runs two career engines and a number of volunteer apparatus out of 6 firehalls throughout the city. Emergency health services are provided to the city by the British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS).
The City of Chilliwack is served by a regional RCMP service, Upper Fraser Valley Regional (UFVR) RCMP; PRIME code 'UF'. The City of Chilliwack is also home to the RCMP's Pacific Regional Training Centre (PRTC) located on the old CFB.

The UFVR RCMP are dispatched from the Chilliwack Operational Communications Centre (OCC) located in the Chilliwack detachment at 45924 Airport Road Chilliwack, BC V2P 1A2. The Chilliwack OCC is responsible for dispatch services for all RCMP detachments located within the Fraser Valley Regional District including:

- Fraser Valley Traffic Services
- Hope RCMP
- Boston Bar RCMP
The Chilliwack Fire Department (CFD) is a composite department operating out of 6 stations, 2 of which have career staff on duty 24/7. Engine 1 and Engine 4, from Firehall 1 and 4 respectively, are staffed 24/7 covering the most densely populated areas of the city. Firehalls 1 and 4 also have a compliment of volunteers along with the exclusively volunteer halls: 2, 3, 5 and 6.
The CFD is dispatched by the Fraser Valley Regional Fire Dispatch (FVRFD) centre located in Chilliwack Fire Department firehall 1 in Chilliwack, BC. FVRFD employs 4 full time and 5 part time dispatchers. FVRFD utilizes the Fire Department Management (FDM) Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for all the departments within the Fraser Valley Regional District for which it dispatches.

The CFD, and other departments within the FVRD, recently began using mobile CAD terminals in some of their apparatus. These are used to perform status changes without need for radio transmissions. They also give responding crews access to notes, incident history, maps and building information on the call to which they are responding.
The British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS) operates 1 station located in the heart of the City of Chilliwack. BCAS dispatch in this region is carried out on Channel 5. Channel 5 encompasses all areas in BCAS Region 2 which are not using the ECOMM WARS; all areas outside of Metro Vancouver. There are numerous different repeater locations.
