Ministry of Highways and Transportation
The Ministry of Transportation and Highways runs an extensive radio network across the province of BC. Each repeater is connected to a trunk type system linked via the commercial telephone system.
The repeaters on the network use a standard set of output frequencies across the province. Punch all of these into your receiver and you are almost guaranteed to hear something:
143.295Mhz 143.415Mhz 143.445Mhz 143.895Mhz 142.995Mhz * This frequency is used in some locations as well. 153.740Mhz * This frequency is used for bridge patrol in the Vancouver lower mainland
